Why medicine needs our healthy data: Ayimire Dilimulati at TEDx
In her talk “Healthy” Data, Nanosync’s founder argues that the most important dataset in medicine is the one we never collect: our own, while we’re well.
Ayimire Dilimulati, founder of Nanosync Biotech, spoke at TEDxKarlsruhe in October 2026 to an audience of around 400 people.
Her argument starts with a simple observation. Medicine gathers most of its data once people are already ill, and it judges each of us against a population average. What is missing is a record of what healthy looks like for each individual, gathered over years, while they are still well.
“Medicine stores snapshots, when biology is a movie.”Ayimire Dilimulati, TEDxKarlsruhe 2026
A single test shows where someone stands on one day. A series of tests shows where they are heading. That is exactly the kind of trajectory modern machine learning is built to read, Dilimulati argued, but only if the data exists in the first place.
The science behind preventive medicine has been sound for decades. What has changed, she said, is that the means to gather personal health data at scale have only recently arrived.
The talk focused on the data problem itself rather than on any product, in line with TEDx guidelines. It is also the question that led Dilimulati to found Nanosync: helping people gather their healthy data, close the gap and maintain their personal baseline over time.
